About Plan Z
Plan Z Professional Learning Services, founded by Tammy Musiowsky-Borneman, has been in the works since 2018. Tammy believes that a forward-thinking approach to educator support is how we can shift the education space. By supporting teachers in reflective work, guiding them through processes of decluttering teaching spaces, and redesigning learning experiences for students, teachers will feel less burdened by all the things that overwhelm them.
Some background about the founding of Plan Z:
Tammy's experience as an educator extends over 23 years of working with students and teachers in rural, suburban and urban settings in both public and international schools. She has worked in roles such as teaching assistant, classroom teacher & co-teacher, as well as a coordinator and coach in elementary schools in Edmonton, Canada, New York City and Singapore, and Hawai'i.
In 2019, Tammy received a certificate in Coaching for Managers from University of California Davis, which is led by the well-known coach, Kris Plachy of Leadership Coach Inc. In addition to that, Tammy has trained with The New Teacher Center based out of San Francisco when she was an instructional coordinator with Pre-K teachers in New York City. With this experience, she combines the questioning techniques based out of The Coaching Habit program, developed by Michael Bungay Stanier, the work of Jim Knight, Elena Aguilar, and other conversation experts to design inquiry cycles with educators.
Tammy's post-secondary educational experience began with an interest in human behavior, so she first completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education. But over time, her interest in teacher leadership lead her to obtain a Masters of Arts in Education specializing in Teacher Leadership. Supporting teachers by developing relationships and working through self-selected professional goals and problems of practice, is a practice she believes in, and knows it benefits students. Working with educators across the globe allows the chance for you and Tammy to work collaboratively and creatively despite physical location.
